| Chamber A man of incredible potential, who fails to see the true power he has. Immediately brought into depression by accidentally killing his girlfriend when his powers exploded his chest and jaw, Chamber has had to live behind a constant veil to cover his powers, and has turned out to be the epitome of emotions. Alone in the world and exploring the likes of France, Chamber made himself home in a small cottage, sneaking into a Chateau with the cottage in the center of a wide hedge maze. As he continued to live his life with his moderate shelter, Euro-X had moved into the Xavier Chateau, Chamber finding himself face to face with Nightcrawler as he explored the area. Attacked by Siryn with an initially suspicious Kurt, the small battle had stopped as a Sentinel crashed onto the property, Jono saved by Kurt as he was teleported away from the maze. Battling a wide range of Sentinels along experience X-Men, Chamber remembered gaining the invitation, but turned it down, as a twist of fate had him fighting along side the X-Men anyways. Once the Sentinels were destroyed, Chamber was left to be apart of the team after showing promising controls of his powers, and was officially a member of Euro-X.
Once Emma Frost had Beast find the coordinates to the Sentinels' base, Chamber went with the team, only to come face to face with Bolivar Trask and what he called "Mutinels". Battling Washout, a mutant enhanced with Sentinel technology, Chamber was able to hold his own as more Sentinels came into the scene. Allowing the rest of Euro-X to handle their own, Chamber ignited a metallic shard with his powers and exploded the Sentinel in the chest, causing the massive machine to fall into bits. Tired and exhausted, Chamber won the battle with Euro-X and went back to the mansion. Gaining a more than friendship experience with Wolfsbane, the team was once again summoned to fight against Selene - chamber for the first time experiencing ALL the X-Men fighting together. With Selene reforming his body with the mystical powers she gained, Wolfsbane and Chamber ended up kissing... only for Chamber's chest to explode, killing Wolfsbane, leaving Multiple Man to kill Chamber. Once revived by Selene's powers backfiring, Euro-X went home with a rough wind, as Wolfsbane and Chamber split apart. Once at the Chateau, Chamber proceeded to become close to the girl known as Penance, being able to talk and fully explore the mansion. But once more, Euro-X was summoned back to the Sentinel facility Trask was at, and came face to face with Weapon X and a still alive Mutinel. Fighting against the Weapon X mutants, Euro-X was defeated as they stole the Mutinel, leaving the team to head back home in loss as Chamber fell into silence. Exploring the area, while training with the likes of Colossus, Polaris and Havok in the Chateau's training facility, a large earthquake struck Rome, Euro-X proceeding to go and save any injured. What he saw, however... was only destruction, and the very sight sickened him.

She seemed to be staring at him intently. It was as though she was just checking him out. Trying to figure out his intentions. Jono gave her all the time he needed. According to Emma the girl was mute, or had refused to speak ever since her arrival at the mansion and all forms of telepathic contact hadn't worked at all. However she seemed to respond to him very well and that helped him feel a little comfortable. Something about her presence made him feel more at home with himself. After awhile he spoke.
~Ms. Frost told me about you. Or what she knows. It must be so horrible to be continuously misunderstood. For people to look at you like you are a freak of nature~ He was speaking more of himself than her. He was falling into one of his downward spirals. As he spoke though, he began to see that he wasn't the only mutant with powers that had disfigured him. Instead he was probably one of many, on of millions! He felt like a creep. Jono had always assumed since the day of his accident that mutants all had powers that made them cool. Powers that made their lives better in different ways. He had assumed that he had been dealt the shallow end of the deal as far as mutant powers. But having met only a few members from the X-Men he began to see that it wasn't the case. That many mutants, even those with "normal" powers were treated like monsters. Just some of them more than others. ~People run from me in fear. And if I ever try to embrace or hug someone I will burn them. The only way I can go out in public and not be noticed is if I wear that scarf.~ He motioned to his scarf laying on the bed. ~I have to pretend to be mute. And even then people still stare at me. How many people wear scarves around their necks and mouths in the middle of the Summer?~ He wanted to laugh at himself at this thought but instead he just looked back at Penance to analyze her reaction. Perhaps she hadn't heard anything he said at all and was just intrigued by the look of his powers, or just curious in him. He wasn't sure at all but he felt good assuming that she COULD hear him. ~Are you able to understand what I'm saying? Ms. Frost said that mental attempts to reach you didn't work. I know I don't have telepathy persay, but it's kinda the same thing when I "speak"~ | |
