Rogue
A girl who must deal not only with her own demons, but those of anyone she touches, who must ensure that she never touches the skin of another lest she suck the very life from them, Rogue’s powers give her more trouble as a mutant than most. While she sometimes needs the help of telepaths, however, her strong personality allows her to keep control of her body, and some semblance of it over her life. Not only that, but despite her history of being with the Brotherhood, she sticks on the side of good and doesn’t let her various ordeals drive her to lash out at those more fortunate than she. Instead, she forms bonds with her fellow X-Men and uses her abilities to help the greater good.
Real Name: Anna-Marie
Basic Powers: Absorbs one’s powers, personality, and memories through skin to skin contact
Current Player: H Rogue
Affiliation: X-Men
Recent Board History:
When Mystique murdered Cyclops, the wedge between her and Rogue grew. She’d never approved of her foster mother’s murderous antics, but Scott Summers had been an ally, friend and leader to her and all the X-Men, and she could not forgive anyone who slaughtered him in cold blood. Her dislike for Raven’s antics grew to loathing.

While the love for the woman who raised her was severed, a reminder of the way she’d been manipulated in the past by that very same individual came back into her life. Carol Danvers. She had awaken from the coma Rogue had put her in, and changed back from her form as Binary, and all apparent effects of Anna Maria’s attack were gone, but the time she’d taken was still lost. For so many years, her very life was ripped from her, and she could not forgive Rogue so easily for that, and so she, while staying at the mansion, did everything humanly possible to make her life miserable.

Unfortunately, she didn’t need that woman to make things worse, those who claimed to love her were doing a good enough job of that, and not just Mystique. Gambit went on a date with Tessa, sparking a fight between them, and even when she tried to patch things up with him, he would not talk about the past nor open up to her. She’d told him everything, except her last name, she’d been honest and truthful, and he couldn’t manage that. The already ruined relationship became even more of a mess.

It wasn’t until after a mission where the entire team had been killed then resurrected that hope again began to shine for the two of them, with Gambit explaining what he had been hiding from her. She wasn’t angry about what he’d done, who he’d harmed, for that was all in the past. Rather, she was grateful that he made the effort to change, and so, slowly, they began to take steps to fix the problems between them.

Then they began having problems, but this time of the superhero kind. They were faced against the seemingly unstoppable genius, Mr. Sinister, and despite their best efforts he constantly seemed to be far enough ahead of them that they didn’t even make a formidable opponent. To make things worse, he eventually disappeared off their radar, and despite the searching minds of the mansions telepaths, he had not yet been found.

Gambit, however, managed to find his way into the arms of the mansion’s women, but this time, though they fought, and though she believed that this would ultimately ruin any chance of being with him, she ended up forgiving him anyway, and trying once more. At the same time, she’s focusing on being dominant over the personalities she absorbs, letting them be nothing more than echoes so she would not need the help of telepaths to keep her mind her own. So far, things have been going well, and currently she is enjoying a relaxing day on the mansion grounds and talking to a violet eyed boy that she has not previously seen around the mansion.

So many faces, so many names. Over the years of her power, Rogue had seen inside the deepest, darkest crevices of the psyche of her victims – a place where no man has ever gone before, and no person should have ever been allowed to. So many times has she, with a simple touch, entered the memories and personalities of those she considered friend or foe and learned about them from the moment they could think to the moment they found themselves in her grasp. Her mutant power was as much a curse as it was a gift, and as of lately it has been surfacing as a curse. You see, every time Rogue manages to absorb another’s thoughts, powers, memories, and personality – she has no true way of removing that imprint from her mind. Occasionally she comes across a personality she needs to immediately have put down, but still, their memories of who and what they are still reside within the deepest recesses of her mind. It was a thought that often had Rogue uneasy, and as of lately their memories and personalities have been protruding themselves into Rogue’s natural thought patterns and memories, making her wonder if her power was evolving or dementing.

The veteran X-Woman preferred to keep herself in confinement as she battled the imprinted personalities to put them back to silence as she often had to do. It certainly was not easy being Rogue, as she often wondered if some day she would go completely insane because of how much ran through her mind at any given time. When she had personally and permanently absorbed the powers and psyche of Carol Danvers, she found that her powers had come at a grave cost. Carol lived on inside Rogue when her body was at near-death in a coma, and for Rogue that experience changed her regarding her powers for a very long time. Rogue still is cautious about who and what she absorbs simply because of the potential of having yet another Ms. Marvel incident. The echoes of all of the personalities in the back of her mind usurped terrible memories for Anna Maria; things that she wished she could forget and hoped would never reoccur.

Luckily, as of late, Rogue had been able to contain the psychological back lash herself without the aid of a telepath by simply the will power she commanded. The echoes were just what she dubbed them, echoes. There was no real power behind these personalities to overtake Rogue’s very dominant personality at that and she wasn’t about to lose herself to the ghosts in her brain. Although Anna had wished for there to be an easier way to handle the situation, at the moment, there wasn’t. She was forever cursed and stuck with the memories and thought patterns of those she had absorbed even if she couldn’t keep their mutant abilities. Perhaps there were things about her and her powers that she didn’t completely understand but Rogue wasn’t one to worry for the future; the X-Woman lived in the now and for now she needed the voices to go away.

However, the calm silence that Rogue was enjoying out by the water was quickly interrupted by the sounds of heavy breathing and a perturbed distinction coming from directly below and behind her. As the X-Woman moved from her levitating stance high above the trees, Rogue hovered around for a moment while she tried to recognize anyone around her that could have been making those noises. About twenty feet below her she then locked onto the form of a young guy, a bit tall and with dark hair running through the woods at a very quick pace and before she could do anything she watched him trip and fall flat on his face. Slightly amused, Rogue cracked a grin and then returned to the seriousness of the situation and wondered what one of the apparently Residents or Students would have been doing out here and in such a furor.

Anna Marie began to hover lower towards the dirt-covered ground and watched silently as the boy collected himself and stared into the water bank while sitting on the edge. It seemed like rather obscure behavior for someone to be doing at night, or at any time for that matter, and Rogue was rather interested in watching what was going on. The boy wasn’t anyone that she had ever recognized before, and it made sense considering he looked a bit young and Anna often kept herself in confinement as of late because of her spiking powers and just lack of care for the world because of all of the problems with Remy. This person was probably a student or a member of the mansion’s Helix team if he even belonged to the X-Men, but that interest wasn’t what mattered at the moment. The boy seemed to just sit still and quiet, much different than his introduction to the scenery, and Rogue couldn’t help but watch him.

The man seemed to be in a state of a trance-like thought and Rogue decided she dare not disturb him until he came to. Settling down on the ground, she made the effort not to be heard as she lightly placed her feet on the soil and continued to watch Nioji in a state of complete awe. She couldn’t quite pin point it, but something was occurring and it was something she couldn’t quite see or understand. Watching his body jerk back into awareness as he continued to sigh, Rogue figured that he was once again sentient and decided she would approach him and make sure that everything was okay – simply because his mannerisms suggested otherwise. He seemed a bit bothered, and to Rogue a little release from the usual thoughts couldn’t hurt.

"‘Ey there Sugah, ya okay?” Rogue asked, her Southern accent sticking through her words as she slowly walked towards Nioji dressed in her X-man uniform.

Although not in her more updated outfit, Rogue was dressed in her classic uniform of her bold green and yellow body suit which was accented by her thigh-high yellow boots and her bulky yellow ‘X’-belt that slung around her waist. Since it was indeed chilly out Rogue was also wearing her trademark brown leather jacket that also had the significant ‘x’s on it and assumed that she was rather obvious as to which affiliation she belonged to incase he was unaware. Rogue’s white and brown hair was pulled back and up into a pony-tail of sorts, though with a few strands hanging off the side of her face as she walked forward towards the sitting male.

“Ah’m sorrah if ah disturbed yah… Ah saw your fall over there. It looked pretty wicked.” She said, trying to break the ice as a concerned individual.
