May '06 Player Spotlight - Five-In-One At first glance, John may be shy, not very vocal, and hardly opinionated - but boy, watch out when you do get to know him! Being a fantastic RPer, growing through his months at neXus and rising to be a bio-mod, he's also the King of Mystery in a sense you never know what's going to come from him! Being a very kind, nice and caring person who also helps in lending an ear, John has rose to the occasion in RPing superb characterizations of snobs all the way to to those who are insecure, showing his wide range of abilities! Never one to keep someone waiting on a post, John's a fantastic addition to neXus! Head-strong, gung-ho, and always someone who can be relied on, John is a fantastic example of a great staffer and online buddy! |

Nioji’s transformation was a bit stunning and distracting but Sophie tried to keep her focus on the SLASH member trying to reach for Shola’s throat. Luckily, there was some outside interference. Someone unknown to Sophie flew in and saved him by use of her own mutant abilities. Shola was a lucky man to have people watching his back. Otherwise, he would have been severely hurt.
With the go ahead from Nioji, Gaia made her move. The fact that she didn’t go into a direct assault was startling. Instead, she changed her clothes, which the four sisters wished they could do on a whim, and casually walked up to a group of SLASH members. This ploy was definitely unwise but Sophie kept a close eye on the group. A few of them had telepathic defense. Not any that the Cuckoos couldn’t bypass but it would have taken longer. With Gaia leading them straight to the short cut, they didn’t have that kind of time. Sophie’s frustration with the mission so far only turned to anger as the pink haired girl was putting them all in danger by what she was doing. The SLASH members were on edge. Sophie placed herself in telepathic position inside several members of the SLASH grouped together near the alley. Under the time constraints, she could only get into the easier minds of the group and as many of them as possible. Once Gaia was through playing around and Nioji was ready for that assault, Sophie was going to “pull the trigger” on them. "You're one of them!" the boy yelled out and alerted the rest of his SLASH friends. "I knew it, you stupid little wh--oomfmmfmfmmbffmfmfmm!" Gaia had the boy under control finally but that was the least of all of their problems. "FUCKING MUTANTS!” One of them called out. Too late. Gaia and Nioji took too long. If Sophie was going to thin out the SLASH troops, this was her chance. Without a second thought, Sophie caused as much psionic pain, within the minds she touched, as she could. The sound of gunshots filled her ears as the four sisters ducked for any kind of cover. Bullets sprayed the alleyway disrupting Sophie’s concentration. "Sophie-san!" Nioji’s voice was hardly mistakable but dulled under the constant gunfire. Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, Sophie tried to warn him but couldn’t concentrate enough to get her words vocalized. “Sophie!” Mindee’s voice was faintly heard as well but the tugging from the back of her skull snapped Sophie back in her present situation. “Run!” Mindee’s advice opened Sophie’s eyes, immediately returning the combined psionic power to her sisters. Three armed men stood in front of her. Mindee tugged the back of Sophie’s hair, again, to try to get her going. This time it worked. Sophie back peddled as the three men approached rapidly. Phoebe froze in fear, giving one of the men an easy target to tackle. “Phoebe!” Sophie screamed out as she watched her sister tumble along with the SLASH member. No more running. This was why they chose to come onto the mission, to prove that they weren’t going to run again. There was no way they were going to leave Phoebe behind. Or Nioji and Gaia. ~ No more running, ~ Sophie told her sisters. There were three of them and four of the Cuckoos. They were outnumbered. Physically, the Cuckoos were outmatched but they might be able to overwhelm them. Phoebe was tackled leaving a three on two match up. The opening attack came with a whip attack from their chains, leaving three of the Cuckoos very little room to maneuver. Mindee and Sophie ducked under the whipped chains but Celeste was too late and was hit in her left arm. Before the chains were able to be used again, Mindee and Sophie charged as fast as they could, both of them aimed directly into one of their chest. As long as they teamed up against them, they could try to pick them off one by one. | |
